FLEA MARKETS & SWAP MEETS
Held at the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive @ 16th) in Vancouver, this flea market holds a little something for everyone. There are over 185 tables set up with a terrific array of items including vintage housewares, toys, furniture, tools, antiques, collectibles, jewellery, books, and so much more. A landmark in Vancouver since the early 1900s, the long red building was converted 1983 into the Vancouver Flea Market (703 Terminal Ave.). Every weekend you can find everything from old tools, fine china, steamer trunks, toys, vintage jewellery and accessories, to new everyday household items. They also host regular Antique and Collectible Shows and Sales. The next one is scheduled for Saturday April 3, 2010. Admission to the Antique show is $1.50 and doors open from 8:30 to 5:00 pm. Cloverdale Flea Market 604-856-1100
Located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds (60 Avenue & 176 Street), this eclectic market is held every Sunday (except special events and holidays) from 6am to 4pm. With stalls both inside and out, you can find an array of both new and secondhand items, as well as plants and produce from local farms.
This old fashioned car boot sale in Langley (260th Street & Fraser Highway) is a wonderful excuse to hit the road on a sunny Sunday. Located about 45 minutes outside of Vancouver, this sale is held from mid-April to Mid-October from 7am to 4pm, weather permitting.
Considered as one of the largest indoor kids garage sales, this swap meet with over 60 tables will feature toys, gear, clothing for babies and toddlers. Held in a variety of locations throughout the Lower Mainland this fall. Check their Web site for more information on dates and locations.
Fun Promotions: Computer Swap Meets and Collectible Sales
Fun Promotions offers both Collectible Shows and Computer Swap Meets throughout the year. There will be a joint Computer Swap Meet and Pop Culture Collectibles Fair on Saturday March 6th at the Croatian Centre (3250 Commercial Dr.Vancouver). Hours 11am-4pm and Admission is $3.00. The BC Snow Expo and the Winter Extreme Ski & Board Show & Swap
With a variety of shows scheduled, skiers & boarders will find a full assortment of places to go, equipment and apparel. The Canadian Ski Patrol’s Winter Extreme Ski & Board Swap is BC’s largest equipment swap and is clearly the best place in town to find deals on all of your equipment needs. Held twice a year at the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive @ 16th) this swap meet is home to more than 80 tables of records, CD’s, and music memorabilia. 32nd Edition of the “COASTAL SWAP MEET”
Western Canada’s Largest Indoor Automotive Swap Meet featuring 569 Indoor, 380 Outdoor and 77 Car Corral stalls, Concessions & Lounge. The Coastal Swap Meet is open to all Automotive Parts, Cars, Services and Supplies, Antiques and Collectibles. 21st Century Retro and Antique Sales
Held at the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive @ 16th) in Vancouver, these shows feature 175 tables of classic antiques mixed in with funky vintage finds. There is something to be found for everyone from seasoned collectors to everyday secondhand shopping enthusiasts. Gale Pirie is also on site for all shows offering appraisals. Next antique show is scheduled for June 13, 2010.
Every spring, and now also in September, this antique show is held at the Kerrisdale Arena (5670 East Boulevard at 41st Ave) in Vancouver. This show features 60 specialty vendors with over 250 tables of 18th, 19th and 20th century antiques and vintage collectibles. Gale Pirie is also on site for this show offering appraisals. 17th Annual Antique and Collectible Show at Queen’s Park Arena
Presented by the Fraser Valley Antique and Collectible Club, this annual show will feature over 200 tables with a fine selection of collectibles, toys, postcards, Coco Cola, Signs, Tins, Bottles, Railroad, China, General Store Items, and so much more. The show will be held at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster on Saturday April 24th from 9am to 5pm and Sunday April 25th from 10am to 3pm. Admission is $4. Victoria’s Ultimate Hobby and Toy Fair
Held on Vancouver Island, this show features collectible toys, dolls, Barbies, comics, vinyl records, trains, diecast cars, video games and so much more.
Seen as one of the biggest toy shows in Western Canada, this show is held at the Mary Winspear Centre (2243 Beacon Ave) in Sidney BC. Here you will find antique and collectible toys, dolls, tin toys, Dinky toys, robots, planes, trains, games books Barbies, Beanies and so much more. Check their Web site for more details.
This show features antique and collectible printed items that includes postage stamps, maps, comics, books, brochures, advertising, sport cards, post cards, magazines, paper money, and so much more. General admission is $3 but early admission is available at 8:30am for $20.
ARTISAN AND CRAFT MARKETS
One of Vancouver’s most unique shows highlighting artists and artisans from a variety of disciplines. This three day show is held in studios and warehouses located throughout the East Side of Vancouver. Includes work by emerging artists as well as those of International fame. Dunbar Community Centre Holiday Craft Fair
With over 140 local vendors, the juried craft fair is one of the best in the city featuring handmade crafts ranging from jewelry to woodwork. Admission is $3.00, children under 12 are free. Childminding, refreshments, and free children’s crafts will be available.
